with offspring #2 out of town at summer camp, and the spousal unit volunteering at said camp, it was just me and the oldest for a few days. So, after doing a bit of fishing

we thought we'd have a fire, and cook some grub

threw some dogs on, and got the CI skillet going

put some bacon grease into the CI because...I don't need to explain why, I'm sure

assembled with some mustard, celery salt, homemade hot pickles/peppers, onions and tomatoes, and paired it with a nice dark mild brewed by yours truly

You're a good dad Matt!
Fishing, bowling, cooking over a live fire? I don't think father/son time can be done much better.
One of these days, y'all will need to come fish at the Yacht Club. Bring me one of those beers and dinner will be on me.

Looks like a heck of a good time to me. There is something special about hot dogs cooked over a open camp fire. It's one of my very favorite things to eat. Great looking grub brother.

ugh...not good. My yard was horribly dry, so I couldn't manage to coax any out, so we just bought some.

Looks good. Did you catch any fish?
not even a bite. but, I was able to manage to teach him to skip stones, so that was fun!
