Thankgiving is around the bend and believe it or not i've never smoked a turkey.

tips, tricks, brines, injections.... all info welcome. I wanna make sure my father in law knows he's eating some damn fine bird made by the guy who sleeps with his daughter.

I never actually cook our thanksgiving bird and its a shame, but I do cook lots of turkeys. Whether you are smoking or roasting I alway brine it. I like to incoporate ingredents to go with the rest of the meal. Thing like cloves and oranges go good with the bird. A basic brine with flavors like those added make a good turkey. I llok to see what recipes I have but usually I make it up as I go. Try take out the back and flattening it. http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21345
