Found a TT at the store decently priced so I thought I'd see how it would do on the wood fired roti. Gotta say I was more than pleased with the results.

The potatoes I hung using a hook and ladder approach down close to fire level.

The tri tip i stopped the rotation a couple of times to sear on both sides.

Thanks for looking!

Here's a pic from more in the middle and the other direction of the cut.

Rotisserie over a fire is now my favorite way of cooking tri tip.

Very nice! What was your cooking time? Hey thank you. I would guess around 40 minutes? I know it came off about 20 minutes before the baked potatoes which were on almost an hour.

Looks great as usual, Keith! I'm going to roti a Tri-tip very soon! Thanks Moose. When the fire got kicking a little is when i'd stop it and sear each side a couple of times.

Nice roto tri tip.

Cant bring myself to goto aldiThanks Steve. Nothing wrong with Aldi...heck many things they carry are my favorite compared to what i can get at Kroger and elsewhere, really really good quality.

I just threw up in my mouth.

:puke:

Just kidding brother ive been there (aldi) just not in my current rotation. Kroger around here cost more than whole foods.

LOL, we sure don't have a good selection of groceries here....for the most part it's Wally, Meijer, Kroger, and Save Alot We have Fresh Market but they are stupid expensive.

Nice looking beef !!!!

As one of the "Rotating People", is this a pretty common way you'd do up tri-tip?

...or hanging, straight grilling, etc.?

...or hanging, straight grilling, etc.? I sure don't think it's common but I'm sure going to do it this way again. If I spun over charcoal instead of splits i'd probably use lump for a nice hot fire.

Prior to this I just did them like most people and reverse seared.

Sounds really good, maybe not as healthy but really good!
