I have a Weston sausage stuffing tube set for a #5 grinder/stuffer. My question is where and/or what is the stuffing star for and where does it go on the grinder?? I am confused. Here is a link for what I am talking about.

I would say that the star goes on, in place of the cutting blade. That way it just pushes the already ground meat through the stuffing horn.

That's what I'm thinking too. Makes sense.

I would agree with mikemci... The star just fills the space between the shaft and the stuffing horn. It also probably helps to keep the shaft centered as it turns as well.
