Is the WSM 22.5 water pan dishwasher safe? I've cleaned it out but wondering if it wouldn't benefit from a cycle in the ole dishwasher.

Thanks

Sure it is. It's porcelain coated steel like the rest of the WSM. No worries.

Just be sure to do it when the wife ain't home. If I put anything from the grill in the dishwasher I'd be in the dog house (for the record I don't actually have a dishwasher)

If it's really dirty, and is porcelain coated steel (don't know, I don't have a WSM, but I have plenty of Webers), hit it with some EASY-OFF!, put it in a garbage bag, and let it soak overnight. Next day, wipe off the gunk, spray it clean with water. If the junk hasn't all come off, repeat.

Don't waste your time with cheaper brands of oven cleaner, they simply don't work as well.

You can even scrub it with steel wool. Nothing can hurt it.

When I had my WSM's I'd just foile the heck out of it. Put 2-3 golf size balls of foil in the pan. Then foil the whole pan around it several times. That way after a cook, I just remove the top layer and wala brand new foil beneath it.
