Had the itch to Q this weekend, so picked up an almost 5lb'er butt from the local grocer. Tad pricey, but hell, I wanted some Q.

Wasn't a half bad lookin' butt either!

So I fired up the drum and set it up with my gifted to me Q-Master Senior temp control (will post separate, more detailed review later). Got the pit to temp and threw on the butt. ITS ALIVE!!! MWAHAHA

Set up the wireless therm to go watch some playoff hockey and let the Q-Master do its thing. LET'S GO BLUES!!!! (and Preds. and Lightning. and Islanders. LOL)

So too the meat we go...foiled the butt at 165, and then pulled off the pit at 205. Probed nice, except for one spot that was still a little tough. Me and the girlfriend were hungry so pulled it anyway. Rested for half and hour. Bone came out clean!

Served it up with some beans I had on the drum for the last hour of the cook and some coleslaw made this morning. Beans were cooked uncovered on the pit to take on some smoke. Turned out great!
