I used the dollar off coupons ($4.99 a pound) and got 4 of them yesterday...

The sales flyers that come to the house have a $1.00 off per pound (up to six pounds total). Check your home delivery flyer and you can ask your neighbors as well if the are going to use the flyer.

You can also build a repor with the mailman and ask him to leave you two or three flyers every time. Tip him at Christmas and he'll get you all the flyers you want..:-D

The flyers in the store do not have the $1.00 per pound off the sale price. They did the same with the corned beef a couple weeks ago.

When you have the coupon you can also ask the meat department to custom size your package for you. IE: three weeks ago they had Italian sausage for $1.89 a pound, limit of one package. So I had the meat department make me a single 20 pound package. Then went back for the same with a second coupon...

HEB is my baby, great meat at the best possible prices. In my area HEB there choice meat is better than some competitors prime meat. I always have the butcher cut me up meat to my specs.

I'd love to see an HEB up here, but when I was in Texas I learned that not all HEB's are equal. The chain store here have the same product in every store. In Texas I guess the HEB's can pick and choose what they want. I've seen different products in many stores that others do not carry. I remember in 2012, I visited 8 different HEB's before I found one that had Blue's Hog or Franklin's BBQ sauces.

I kind of go out of my way to go to Wegman's here, they seem to carry the most variety of items, and they will bring stuff in that they carry if you ask the manager. Their pork butts have always been reasonable because they own their own pork farms (also owns their own chicken farms).
