So today is the big day

sarted with 1/2 of the charkole basket full of briquettes and lump
and threw in a few chunks of oak
started my starter chimney with about 15 coles
and dumpt it in the middle

tempreture was set at 250 celcius 482 F
i will tell this all in f for you guys but i work in c here :)
and it hit this temperature in about 30 minutes but becouse the pid was lerning it didded stop on the way up but on the 482 mark
so temp shot past the 482 F to 600 F
and it took a good 15 minutes to come back down
did the same thing about 5 times with better and better temps and after 2 ours it sat around 482 F constant min of 473 F and max of 491 F
so i let it do this for another 2 ours
i wanted it to be hot in the beginning to clean the fish oil that used to be in the barrel out
i cleaned the bartrel manny times but you could still smell the fish
after that at about 18:00 i set the temp for 248 F
it took to long for the temp to drop and my coles whent out so i opend her up and threw in one lighting cube to start her back up and it took the flame willingly
becouse the lid was open for some time during this the temp was all the way down but after i got her running again it was fast to go up again and i had her at 248 in 20 minutes
it needed another 20 minutes to get steady at that temp
by now it was dark :)

inside of the barrel was sprayed with oil and its really starting to get some coulor to it but i think thats a good thing :)
its really baked in there to no scraching this off with youre nails
tomorrow will be the first cook on it im gonna let it burn all night long see if it makes the morning
