What do you all think of this charcoal? The Pig is selling (2) 12.9 lbs. Bag for 10.00. Got some on the smoker now and seems to be burning pretty clean. Your options please.

I have used them with no issues, both grilling and in the WSMs.
$10.00 for 26 pounds isn't a screaming deal, but it doesn't suck.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. Seems to be running find, will wait to stock up on a much better deal.

I like 'em. Inexpensive and good.

I like them a lot. It's a little hard to find briquettes here though. I can find stubbs and coshell easily and use them for long cooks more often. I grab a couple bags every time I see them though.

You can get Royal Oak real cheap, it's re-branded by everyone. Any charcoal that has "ridge" on the package is Royal Oak, Best Choice etc. An even better product is the larger 'Chef Select" briquettes. I think Walmart re-brands it as Backyard Grill.

Also the Embers brand sold at Home Depot, $5.98 for a 17.6 lb bag.

I use the Minion method in my WSM. I load the ring with RO lump and start it with a chimney of RO briquettes. Saves some money.
