Looks like a good deal! When I was at HEB this weekend, I stumbled across two packages of half whole packer briskets. Looks like they were about a 7 pound packer sliced lengthwise and individually cryovaced. Each of them had a "today only 25% off" sticker. Took me about 30 seconds to grab them both and throw them in the cart. Now I have no excuse for not cooking a brisket even if it is just for the wife and I.

THoey1963 just me and bride as well. You can do an awful lot with chopped brisket. Quesadillas, soups, stews, chili, bbq, any and everything Mexican, add it to burger before grilling (chop house burgers). Pretty endless. Nice grab

It's kind of funny. I buy almost all the beef I cook this way. But the thing that gets me is how often people here post asking where they can get meaty beef ribs. I buy ALL the beef ribs I have cooked marked down, nice and meaty. This past weekend, I went to buy ribs but they were sold out. Game change, make meatloaf. Went to buy the meat-ground pork marked down for quick sale, the same thing happened with the ground beef.

Yeah, I can eat it for about 3 or 4 meals and I start getting tired of it, no matter what or how good it is. The wife? She's not much into leftovers unless it is Asian food...

My local Walmart has been selling chuck roasts for $3.97 a pound (non yellow tag). That's unheard of around me. I bought 6 roasts and already cooked up three. Gunna have to buy more.

Heard on the news this evening that pork producers have gotten over the recent pork epidemic and prices should be coming down.
I miss 99 cent/pound pork butts sliced into steaks (or not) :caked:

Wish beef would go on sale here... we do get some good butt sales sometimes, I guess that's something
