The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if my Char-Broil wannabe version has as much draft as it should. Anyone know how long and the diameter of the Highland's smokestack before Char-Broil bought the brand?

Anyone have any idea or know anyone that has one? It's the 18" diam one, a little smaller than the LongHorn, and I know that ten yrs or so ago Academy used to sell 'em.

I have a New Braunsfel Oklahoma Joe that was made before Charbroil took them over, I can measure it tomorrow in the daylight but if I remember it is a 3" pipe and I want to say right at 18" high from the 90 degree angle. here is a picture of mine after I refurbished it. http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z411/BigBobBq/BBQ%20Pics/NB%20OK%20Joe/imagejpg1-1.jpg (http://s1188.photobucket.com/user/BigBobBq/media/BBQ%20Pics/NB%20OK%20Joe/imagejpg1-1.jpg.html)

Nice pit, and I appreciate the feedback. Which Okie Joe is that? What's your smoker diameter?

I do believe it would be the longhorn, not sure what they were called or how many models they had back then. I will measure everything in the morning and let you know.

I measured mine this morning and I have the 20" diameter cooking chamber and it is 40" long. The exhaust pipe is 3" inside diameter opening and 15" from the 90 degree angle on the short side an 18 1/4" on the long side. My firebox is 20" x 18" long.

Thanks. I believe that's pretty much the same dimensions for the cheaper Char-Broil Longhorn, so maybe my Highland, which is a little shorter and has an 18" diam, also has the same dimensions as the old ones. Thanks for checking. Wish I could come across one of those heavy old pits.

I found mine on Craigs List for $75 and it looked poor and neglected, but a few days with a wire wheel, grinder, sand paper, and some high temp paint and she lives to cook for a few more years.
