Just picked this up off of CL. $300 bucks with cover.
Is there a way i can tell how old it is? Here is my stab at pellet cooking.

Nice! Do yourself a favor and do not get traeger pellets. They produce zero smoke flavor IMO. I use BBQ delight hickory and BBQ delight charcoal in an a - mazin tube smoker on my traeger and get plenty of smoke flavor.

If the last owner didnt tear it off on the under side of the pellet hopper lid it should say when it was made:grin:

don't ask... just cook!!! i just got a traeger li'l tex elite for $200.00. i found a real good way to get some good smoke flavor on what i was cooking. male a pan out of foil about ten inches long, three inches wide and two or three inches high. punch it full of holes and put a double wide layer of kingsford briquettes on the bottom, cover them with chunks and put this on the auger arm with one end hanging just a little bit over the fire pot. once the fire in the pot lights the charcoal, this will give you about three hours of smoke at about 250* to 275*. i know a tube will do the same but i like the taste that chunks and charcoal impart.

Are you guys putting the tube smoker or what ever you are using on the grill grate or down in the bottom?

I decided I am through buying stuff and just concentrating on cooking. I'm an equipment addict, and if I got a pellet pooper (never had one), I would be researching types and brands of pellets, ways to get more smoke flavor, pellet pooper mods, accessories, etc. I almost pulled the trigger on a Green Mountain last fall, and if I had seen that deal on CL in my area, I might of fallen off the wagon.
Nice score, btw.

It is not the absolute newest version, that one has an ON/OFF switch which they stopped putting on controllers maybe 2 years ago or so. But it is pretty dang new and a great find. There isn't much of anything important that has changed on them.
