View Full Version : I Got My First Surprised B-Day From A Aussie Brethren

10-08-2014, 09:27 PM
I've never before been caught off guard by a birthday gift. When the package was delivered I was sleeping. Not up to speed the last few days. When I awoke my wife ask what have you ordered? Nothing that I am aware of but they did increase my meds.
(These are the Cowboy Chops from Snake River Farms)
AussieTitch you made me happy where I can't even find the words. I had forgotten how it made me feel to get such a gift.

I'll have to go out tomorrow and get Tina & Matthew some round steak. It's my Birthday after all. :becky:

Thanks again Mate, I'm honored and humbled by your gift.

Yes Sir, I'm planning on eating the fat too, then I'll use my nut cracker to break the bone and make a pate with the marrow. No doubt I will let nothing go to waste. I have them thawing in the fridge as I type. It's strange for the first time in a while, I'm actually looking forward to my birthday on Friday.

That's something you just can't repay.

Not only am I'm cooking, my plan is to break out my Weber I've have put away for 2 years. Once I get just the right sear on the steaks. I will move to the safe zone and slow down the heat just a little and let the magic do the rest. I've decided the sides will be One Steak Knife & One Fork. That should just about do it.:clap2:

I feel like this should be moved to the "wish granted" thread. Something like:

Wish granted, you now age a year every Tuesday and Saturday for the next three months :twitch:

Once I finish wiping the mushrooms to clean them. Get the Sweet Potatoes and Regular Potatoes in the oven. My son and official photographer for today, I just haven't told him yet. Out of the three cookers I posted a picture of . I'm using two to prepare the steaks, can you guess which two? Got to get at it, plenty of pron to follow.

Them two little puny things I picked up for the wife and son. Really Ya'll didn't think I was going to
share my present did you?

After searing I moved the steaks over to the Weber and finished
with indirect heat.

It was the best tasting steak I believe I've ever tried to eat. AussieTitch here's my plate.
Thank you for the gift, it was the best one ever, I'm not just saying that
because it was my only one this year.

Outstanding looking steaks!
And, what a great idea on sending packages to Brethren!

The best part was sitting out at the grills with my son. He say's too me daddy I'm confused about something. What is it son I ask. In school they are teaching us that we come from apes, neanderthal etc. but that's not what you and ma have taught me. We ended up in an hour long discussion where I hope and pray he understood it all. In the end I said to him to just ask God what the truth is, he can not lie to you. You just got to listen with your heart and be willing to wait for a answer. Just him coming to me and asking made me proud. I do know a pastor, that if he see's this post will send me a pm and help me to better explain and answer what questions we can. IN the end though the choice is Matthew's to make. Serving God is a decision you have to make for your self. I'll be by your side always as you will be in my heart.

This ain't about BBQ but we were cooking when we talked about it.

and anyone else who have never tried this. It has been since childhood
since I myself had this. Like another brother said,
we would hunt coke bottles all day just for the
deposit then turn around and buy more coke and peanuts.

After that much meat Brother, I thing I got to go veggie for a while. Matthew not only ate his puny rib eye, he helped me finish off both of them two pound +.
He told me it was my birthday and considered it his duty to do all he could to help his daddy out.
