so, there's this throwdown going on, and I was gonna make chile verde anyway...
got a quick fire going

assembled my players

let 'em get happy for a while

let it all cool, then skinned them. then took it all for a spin in the Ninja

then, sauteed up some garlic and onion

added in some cubed home cured and smoked ham from earlier this week

combined everything

brought it up to a boil, then parked it in the oven at 250 for 6 hours or so while I painted the kid's room, and ended up with this

made a batch of Jeanie's jalapeno cornbread to go with

paired it with a strawberry-rhubarb saison

Wow, that campfire beer looks great!

Nice verde sauce, never tried it with ham, that seems interesting to me

Thanks, Bob. I usually use country style ribs in my verde, and usually cure some if it, so I thought I'd just go with the leftover ham.
And the beer is pretty good...I'm having trouble keeping it on tap this summer

It was a good match...it's nice and tart and refreshing.

Did you cook the chili and cornbread on the campfire too or just the peppers?

Looks good, chili season is amongst us and I can't wait to give it a shot!

just the peppers this time...I was painting, so I wasn't going to be able to keep an eye on any of it :roll:
