Picked up some beef ribs at Walmart the other day. Rubbed them with Oakridge BBQ Black Ops, oil, a little extra salt, and a few dashes of worcestershire sauce. Waiting on the smoker to come up to temp right now.

Looks like there is a little bit of meat on those bones. Nothing but SHINER bones at my local Wally World. If it weren't for a little bit of meat Between the ribs there wouldn't be any. Been tempted to speak to the manager about this for some time now. I can not see anyone spending more then $0.49 / lb. for ribs, and they are asking up to $3.69/lb. sorry to highjack this post.

I really like the flavor of beef backs (including Walmart's), but they are normally shiners and yield very little meat. If they are under $2/lb, I will grab them. Anything over that, someone else can pay for the weight of bones. Looks like yours are off to a nice start.

These definitely have some meat on them, but I know what you mean. I had to pick thru them to find the best ones. Did the same with some pork ribs that are currently in the deep freeze.

The Char-griller offset is currently running at 270-275 with a water pan.

Approaching the 2 hour mark. Going to make up a little spray to keep the outside moist.

Ditto. I won't buy em anymore. The last two three times I've made em I ended up wasting time and fuel. They'd be ok in a stew, but not on a smoker. Jmo
Maybe yours will turn out ok. EDIT just saw the finished pics- looks real nice man!! How were they?

And some cut pics. I think they could have used some more time but they were tasty with the correct amount of grease.

I mixed up sweet baby rays with some more rub and mustard and some italian dressing to thin it a bit.
