I have come across a Stumps Prince for sale, the guy is asking $1800, I ask if the pit controller was included and he said he would "include the stoker for the original asking price of $1900 with local pickup. I has two fans, two temp sensors, and an external wireless adapter. You'd need your own fan to smoker adapter as I need to keep that". My question to all you brilliant brethen is....whats is worth? I have to drive 4.5 hrs to get it in my truck that gets less than desirable fuel mileage and hope there is enough muscle to pick the pig up and into the bed of the truck.

I don't know a whole lot about Stumps.... and I don't think I'd make that type of trip for something that is going to cost me almost 2G's... but if you do, it's worth the extra 100 bucks for the stoker kit...

I have a Stumps and love it. I wish that deal was around when I bought my XL Baby. I would have jumped on it. Price out a new one with shipping. That smoker will be heavy.

The bas price on a new Stumps Junior, which I believe has a similar capacity, is $3,600.00. If the Prince is in excellent shape, it sounds like a good deal even with the fuel cost included. BTW I love my Stumps!

I think it's an incredible deal, but then again I'm the one selling it. :) Just a note on your pickup...not sure how that would be accomplished. I have ramps that let us get it into the smallest uhaul open trailer, but a pickup bed would be much higher. I'd be surprised if that trailer would affect gas mileage of a pickup much. It only hit my Outback with about 2-3mpg loss. Guess I could toss in the ramps, too. They're the harbor freight ones.

If anyone has pickup transport ideas, feel free to chime in.

hmm...winch, straps, d-rings? Not sure how much those things are supposed to hold.

I think the best way to go is to rent a small trailer. Just to be safe and it would be a whole lot easier.
