What gauge steel are backwoods made from

The shell is only like 20-22g steel. Kind of like a file cabinet

It depends on which one. The new G2's are made with thicker metal. Off the top of my head I wanna say it 16ga, but not sure.

the outer shell is definately not 16g

might be 16g inside, 20g galvanized outer

I saw a few at a dealer and they are very light-weight compared to other insulated cabinet smokers. They had some older used ones that had rusted badly from being outside. The dealer said that rust was a big issue and that is why they switched to the galvanized outer shell.
