Smokin Ribs
08-03-2014, 08:10 PM
So I saw Cowgirls campfire ribs and thought i would give it a whirl. Only used salt, black pepper and a dash of garlic powder.. It was going great, the pics of them are at the 4 hour mark. Went back to check shortly after and they were missing. Grrrrrr:mad2::mad2::mad2: My dog decided to swipe them off the hot grill and eat them.. Oh well will try again this weekend. But guarded better:wink:

Smart dog, he knew they were perfect for the bend test, and it seems they were done!
Sorry about your ribs but the dog just needs a pat on the head and he'll always be your bud.

Oh my...I would have loved to see the expression on your face when you discovered those ribs went missing!

Nonetheless, they look great, and look forward to seeing the next report when your ribs actually get to your plate. I'm betting they will!

Don't put a perfectly rare bone in prime rib on the counter to rest while you go feed the cows! Oh, and don't ask how I know this.

How about a picture of the culprit just in case he/she shows up at my house looking over the cooker.

A variant of this happened to us: we ate half of a delicious holiday rib roast and retired into the living room to rest and recover. When we came back into the kitchen a couple of hours later, the rest of the roast we had left on the table was not there.

It was obvious to us what must have happened, but our suspicions were confirmed later that night when my dad noticed a piece of cooking twine peeking out the rear end of our dog.

I assume you're talking about the original poster's dog, but I can tell you that when my pops grabbed a hold of the string coming out the back end of our dog and gave it a yank, she started up with a bang and took off like a rocket.

haha! That sucks. The dog was probably like, "whatever punishment awaits, this is sooooo going to be worth it." It was probably the best meal of his life!

In some countries the dog would be next up on the grill. The second set of ribs are looking good!

At least the dog has good taste. Being guilty of a similar lapse in judgement, I'd have to call this one operator error.

Coulda been worse. I've been served ribs that dogs had gotten ahold of. As I sit down to eat and everyone else is digging in I notice hair all over the ribs. The bro in law proceeds to tell us he had rubbed the ribs and left them on the table while he got the smoker going. He came back in and the dogs had the ribs in the floor licking them all over. Told us he didn't want to waste the rub so he just rinsed them sparingly and didn't think it would hurt since they were cooked for hours. He then proceeded to dig in with a smile on his face.

They eat dogs in Korea. Dog paws are street food.

One Thanksgiving, I placed the partially carved turkey on top of the frig for safekeeping. When I went for more turkey, it wasn't there. There was only one dog in the house at the time. The same dog got loose one time and came back carrying half of a grilled chicken.
