Decide to smoke a meatloaf today. 80/20 Hamburger at 3.79 pound. Ground pork 1.29 pound. Green pepper 99 cents, onion 1.29 Lb . Makes it a $15.00 frigging meatloaf.

I never thought ground beef would be higher than brisket. B=2.79 GB 3.79?? But you know you just got to do it, right?

That's probably why I eat more brisket than burgers. @ my home burgers are for special occasions, steaks and roast are the regular.

Why not have the butcher just ground you up a brisket?

Yall enjoy those cheap briskets. Some folks can not buy them for that price and are paying more for sorry quality ground beef than what you are stating.
The packers and grocery men are the ones getting rich.

$2.79 is awesome!

Publix in Tampa Bay selling full packers for 7.99 a pound. I pay 4 bucks a pound @ RD and thats a deal!

I normally let the wife shop cuz I b*tch all day after shopping. Have a friend who hauls cattle. There is 30-40 head herd just south of here. Hmmm ...What is the jail time for rustlers now a days?

Drive out here in cow country. We have land with no grass can't support cows, Hence few cows and therefor high prices. Our ranches are hurting pretty bad. Simple supply and demand

I am the calf man that sends young weaned calves out to the back grounders and stockers. I have seen the market come and go.
The brisket prices you are quoting are cheap for my area... enjoy while they last. Same for ground meats.
I understand supply and demand too well. We raised hogs commercially for 30 plus years. Used the fertilizer from that to grow grass for our cow calf operation.

I know who is making the money and it ain't the farmer/rancher. The middlemen and the grocers get rich from our efforts.
