I find myself somehow losing the probeholder/clip for my maverick that goes on the grate. wondering if you all might know where to snag some replacement clips. I saw someone selling them on ebay but couldn't find much more.

edit: i took the ebay link off...i didnt want anyone to think i was trying to promote it.

I'll use a tinfoil ball on the probe. Potato works better, but sometimes I don't have one handy.

I use 2 small pieces of 1 by, with hole in the middle. Holds my probe about 1/4" above the grate.

I saw someone post a picture of a chunk of smoking wood that they had drilled a hole through. I borrowed that idea about a year ago, still using the same chunk.

I have two that I made:
1) A small block of wood with at hole in it to pass the probe through
2) Take a Binder clip that I drilled a hole through clip it to the grate put the probe through the hole.
