I am building another uds for a client and after a long search I found a older Weber for the lid. It has about a 2-3" circular chunk of the factory finish on it so I need to clean it off as best as possible to repaint. Will sandblasting remove the porcelain like coating or is there another method I can try. If it were for me I would just scuff it and paint but for someone else I want to put a good paint job on it.

Thanks!

i've explored this some.....had a blasting place do my original 24" Weber Wok.....asked about doing a kettle & they said bring in a beater & we'll see if it works....haven't done so yet, so no absolutes, but the quality of work they did on some car parts that were old, heavily painted stuff, I wouldn't be surprized if it was easily possible......
