We're getting up early on Saturday. I'm going to season the new smoker in the morning and I'm going right into the first smoke. Got some ribs and a pork shoulder. Of course since it was bought at Costco lots of meat to be had. When I got the shoulder it was just over 10 lbs. I thought at 1.5 hrs per pound roughly 15 hours. I got the meat home and when I got the package open the piece was in two pretty equal pieces. It may be getting late but I thought ok so is it now each piece for 7.5 hours or both for 15. Make sense? Am I starting at 6 and finishing at 9 pm or 1:30 pm I'm cashing in so I can get an early start

It does make sense! However, the meat will tell you when it is done via temperature. Sometimes butts have a mind of their own:|
