Here is what I have going on so far. I am dropping the fire box about 4" so I can get the output as low as possible going into the cooking tank. I doubled the size of the stacks and they are down inside the tank about 6". The fire box was a little to small for both tanks, so I'm only putting heat to the tank on the right. I will use the other side to grill, or smoke in it like I am doing now by putting the fire to one side and meat one the other.

Thanks to whoever cleaned up my treads. wasn't sure if I should start a new one or not. Should I keep adding progress pics here?

Looks like the mods combined your two threads into one, Matt. Yep, add the progress pics here. Looks like a fun project!

One of my customers is a trade school welding shop, and they designed it, and put most of it together. I've never been able to control the heat. So with some help (mostly from this site) I think I got it figured out now.

Thinking about building a box off of the angle iron and insulate the fire box.

First test run since I tore it a part. Supper Happy with it. Before I could not keep a fire going if I shut the door. It was shut down for an hour and still rolling smoke!!!

Thanks Bob. I still have a lot to do to it, but the hard part is done. The rest is small stuff like intake and exhaust dampers and a floor with some sides on it.
