While I was out and about today, I stopped in Academy Sports to get another dehumidifier for my gun safe since the other one crapped out on me. As any good Brethren would do I went wandering over to the grilling area and found me an early b day present. I was going to up grade to a 22 in weber one touch since I've been using a little 18in Brinkman. A good steak almost covers it up. I saw this, and said what the heck. It's sturdy, really sturdy. I expected it to flex when I picked it up but it held it's shape very well. I know it's no Weber, but it's a 22in grill with a huge metal side table for 150$ already assembled. I did pick up charcoal holders since it doesn't come with them. Only has a 1 year warranty, but again it's no Weber. Going to fire it up tonight with some mushroom and swiss stuffed burgers. I'll let you know how it works out.

Let us know how it performs... looks pretty cool. I love the side table, I couldn't go back now that I have a performer.

I wish you good luck it but I think you will find that the ash is going to clog the intakes like an SJS but like you said "It aint a Weber":icon_shy

That was my main concern with it blu, and the grates are a gauge or two thinner, but I'm about to try and clog it up with kbb instead of my lump. We'll see....

Well here's the grade Solid B- to B. It's not a weber as I stated beforehand. I ran it with one of the small sized chimneys with kbb. I did notice that it could use a little bit more intake. I have never had the pleasure of grilling on a weber so I am no good on a side by side comparison. I say it could use some more intake because I would see the outside briquettes start to glow a little when I took the lid off. Now compared to the Brinkman smoke n grill I've been using, it rocked! I was able to grill 3 skewers of veggies for the wife while slow cooking the burgers. Finally I can do a true reverse seer. I don't know if it will be able to do a snake method smoke, but I plan to do a dry run. I didn't have any issues with ash clogging up the intakes. I'm letting it burn up all the briquettes right now to see how the ash falls out. So I am pleased with it. I'm not ever planning to smoke on it, but I feel that I didn't waste money. For me as a grill with a huge table it was everything I wanted! Now some pron for listening. Sorry tablet gets a strange antique look inside the house.

It was the first time I ever saw it. I think I am going to be pleased.

Well Heck Yeah! Ain't nothing wrong with that except as my Dear Departed Dad said, "Boy, It's the section between the rodhandle and boatseat that count". Burgers and steaks need to go high heat.

Looks good. You find that at the Academy in NE Columbia? I'm in there all the time and hadn't noticed it.

Yeah that's the one, Harbison one opening at the end of July they said. They only had 2 in the store. They switched the lids out for me. The one on display someone got heavy handed putting the lid hook on and cracked the porcelain coating off. I haven't seen them online either, I've been looking at their website trying to decide what to upgrade to.

looks good to me...don't get too caught up on the whole "its not a weber"...webers aren't that special...just a round top grill.....if its sturdy and u can grill on it...id call it a win!

I like the table/frame. Where is the exhaust vent?

Blythewood BBQ'er

It on the backside, kinda opposite the therm. It's a typical 4 hole wheel. I let all the kbb burn down and it didn't choke the intakes. All the holes open.

Its beginning to sound like a good buy for a grill with table on the cheap. Good to know. :thumb:

For something to direct grill on occasionally, that looks fine. Probably need more regular cleaning than a Weber. The table surface is a nice plus.

With the other gear listed in your sig, I don't know why you'd want to bother trying a really long cook on it. I agree with Bludawg's comment about clogging - the 5-hole intake at the very bottom of the fire bowl is inviting ash build-up. I suppose if ash hampers airflow, you could try cracking the lid a hair.

Enjoy!!

Cut some holes in the vertical sides of this and place inverted over the intake for a cheap mod for longer cooks.

I wish you the best of luck with it. I would've spent my money on soemthing else. I've wasted too much money on cheap grills.
