View Full Version : What's Your Favorite Mac & Cheese Recipe?

I'm planning sides for tomorrows butt cook. The family wants mac & cheese, but everybody has a different spin on it. What's your go to recipe?

Here is my friends recipe. I love it.

1 pound of mac noddles
3/4 block of Velveeta
4 sticks of butter
2 cups of milk
8 oz sharp cheddar block
8 oz mild cheddar block
8 oz mozzarella block
1 bag of shredded mild cheddar
2 eggs
pepper to taste

Boil noodles ( not to tender, no soggy noodles) put butter in pot with milk, cube blocks of cheese and add to pot and season with pepper, heat to melt the cheeses, stir regularly, be careful not to burn. Drain cooked noodles and pout in large baking dish. (I use foil pans)Stir in eggs to drained noodles. ( this will help set). Stir in cheese mixture and add more pepper if needed. Sprinkle with shredded mild cheddar cheese, cover with foil and bake at 400for 15 minutes, reduce to 375 and bake another 45 minutes taking cover off for last 10 minutes.

I'm not a big Mac N Cheese fan, but Smokin John knocked it out of the park at the last two SoCal bashes with this amazing Mac n Cheese. Top Shelf stuff all the way!

Blu's Oooey Gooey Mac & Cheese


1 box pasta
1 pint whole milk
1/3 cup sour cream
1 1/2 tsp corn starch
1/2 tsp Cajin seasoning ( I like Slap Momma Ya)
1/2 tsp powdered mustard
1/4 tsp Fresh grated Nutmeg
1 tsp celery salt
1tsp onion powder
3/4 cup grated colby jack
3/4 cup grated mild cheddar+ 1/2 cup reserved
2" off a brick of velveta cubed into 3/4 cubes


Butter a 9X13 pan
Whisk together the milk, sour cream corn starch and all the seasoning set aside
Put the dry pasta in the pan.
Evenly distribute the velveta cubes around the pasta and add the grated cheese
Pour the milk over the pasta and enough water to just cover the pasta
Spread the 1/2 cup cheddar on top
Bake in a preheatd 350-375 deg oven for 45-50 min
