With the recent increases in pork prices, and the skyrocketing price of Beef and yes even chicken has become a nightmare to some of us....

A visit to RD I saw boneless pork butts priced at $1.89 a pound. I prefer the bone in butts, but these are almost the same price. I picked up a few to try as pulled pork and a couple others to make Buckboard Bacon. In the past I have only used them to make pulled ham instead of pulled pork.

I used to cook them all the time when Costco was my only option for buying bulk. One advantage of them is you can get your rub onto more surface area. I always tied them up to make sure they cooked evenly. They also yield more meat per pound. Good luck

Mistakenly grabbed some late last year (read the package, dumb ass << Me)

Then, proceeded to pull another one of these:

Rubbed all over to 'get that extra bark' & then rolled it up to cook.......surprize, not a very nicely cooked bark ......on the inside!!!

Noticed early & unravelled my butts, but w/o unravelling, it could have been ugly........

Don't let this happen to you ...........

I get them at CostCo, tie em up and season, just as moist as with the bone.
