Just put the meat on. Temps are doing fine, but not getting any smoke out of the chimney (or anywhere else) at all. Just want to be sure I'm not choking the smoker somehow! Thanks, all.

What type of smoker and what all is in it. You really don't want to see heavy smoke coming out. I like to see a tiny bit of smoke if any.

Smoke you can't see or barley see is a GOOD thing! Smoke on

Only time a smoker is "too full" really is if the meats are all pressed up against each other, inhibiting smoke absorption. That said, the more thermal mass you have in the smoker, the more BTUs you will need to bring it up to your normal smoking temp and the longer it will take to get there.

Plenty of room left. Like mentioned above, as long as all the meats aren't mushed together your good.

On a side note, can you ever put too much meat into a smoker or is the smoker just too small for the task. Is it too much meat or not enough smoker. Half full half empty kinda thing.

Sometimes I have to hold my hand near the exhaust to feel the heat coming out and then smell my hand to make sure that it is that sweet smoke smell. Invisible or light whisps are great.

I agree with all above. Looks like you're doing just fine.
