What are you fellas using for chicken rub?

I've been using Plowboys Yardbird with great success, but am looking for alternative crowd pleasers. Looking for the wow factor.

I'm using a BGE.

Try Moose's Secret Chicken rub a few threads above this one, stellar stuff I've just discovered. I also enjoy The Slabs Birds & Bones, Oakridge Secret Weapon, Mad Hunky Meats, Wick Que Sweet Georgia Heat, JP Custom Smoke Sweet Heat, EAT Zero to Hero...all solid Rubs for chicken.

Inexpensive at the Latin grocery is Goya Adobo with bitter orange. Absolutely perfect on chicken. Orange lid.

I'm still really eager to try Slay Yo Daddy's chicken rub. Harry lives about 2 miles from me, gotta support the local boys! (besides, it's won him a championship or 2... can't suck!)

I figure the solution to the cat pee problem is to take that normally worthless brisket packer that was split into point and flat pieces and stick the cat between them and cook it after tying it all together.

How much of a "heat" bite does that have?

My Favorite is OakRidge Secret Weapon for pork and chicken... Their Gambird is also good, but I prefer Secret Weapon...

Don't forget about Old Bay Seasoning. I know most use it for seafood but its excellent on chicken. It even says poultry on the can. The Wolfe Pit had a post on "Old Bay Chicken" the other day

I too use Goya but the red top "with pepper"

I pour it out of the bottle into a bowl and add some homemade chipotle powder at 1 heaping TBS per 16oz jar.

use this as a nice base rub for ribs or a primary for hot and fast chicken.
good stuff maynard!

I like to use Plowboys Yardbird with a second layer of Big Poppa Smoker Jalleluhah Jalapaeno Seasoning. Gives my chicken a spicy kick.

I'm a big fan of Moose's Top Secret Chicken Rub #2. I put that on the first two chickens I cooked on the PBC. Best chicken of my life!
