Lem
734-A 50 LB
Driven by Lem#22 grinder motor works great with batches of 20 lbs or more
Small batches don't work well - not full enough - Big and heavy

Kitchen Aid Pro, 7 quart

Pros: It is a work horse, I have all the attachment and use them quite a bit, I throw all my attachments into the dishwasher, top shelf.

Con: It's heavy and I don't have counter space for it so it gets moved back into a cabinets when not is use.

^^^Same. Can't think of anything else to add to pros or cons mentioned by aquablue22. I have a lower cabinet at floor level mine gets stashed in.

Kitchenaid
Artisan Stand Mixer 5 Quart
Tilt head model
Works well, if I was using it all the time though, I'd upgrade to one with metal gears.

Kitchenaid
K5
Bought cheap at flea market for $70, solid, stainless steel whisk is dishwasher safe, so is plastic bladed beater
Can't think of any cons

Although most often I mix things by hand: whisk eggs, knead dough, etc..

I suppose I should get a dough hook for it (or whatever attachment) for mixing sausage, as my hands get pretty cold.

A $10. hand mixer
Pros...doesn't take up space
works great
easy to clean the beaters
Cons... haven't found one yet

I knead dough by hand. I can't explain it, there's something soothing about kneading dough. I can "feel" when it's ready.

Bought it a few years ago when it was only $400 list price, and the 20% discount (sign up for the email list) brought it down to $320. Now it looks like you can grab it for about $360 when all is said and done. Don't get anything less than the 6 quart. My sister regrets her 5 severely.

Bosch Universal Plus

I bought it primarily for making pizza dough but it can do a lot more. Very high quality as with most Bosch products

I have an Ankarsrum (https://www.ankarsrumoriginalusa.com/) from Sweden. I use it just as a mixer, but its got universal attachments like the Bosch (blender, meat grinder, pasta maker, etc).

Pros: It's a beast. I grind my own grain, and this thing can mix 6 loaves worth of whole grain dough, no problem (the KitchenAid is limited to 1-2 loaves of dough and is driven through a worm gear that WILL wear out). If you can use any of the other attachments (like meat grinder or sausage horn), all the better.

Cons: Don't stop at an ATM first (you can't get enough cash at one time).

Final: Worth every penny.
