Are you talking about the band that locks the lid on your drum? If so theres no difference in the drums just the locking band itself and most dont even use them for the uds inless your lid Iis warped and you have trouble with it sealing

If you were close i'd give you my bolt locking ring because i just don't use it.

so the locking mechanism doesn't matter? then i'll get the cheaper of the two options.

I make sure all the smokers that leave here have a bolt type for ease of use and a must have for going down the highway in an open vehicle. Ease of use means not having to bend the handle for clearance if you have a center flue, like all of my units do. I like the big bolt locks because the ring is bigger in thickness and it's also used to make sure the top is round when left on for awhile. Helps lids seal better if round. Steve.

I have the lever type and have no problems with it. Easy and quick to take off and put back on and doesn't need any tools to clamp on. No problems with clearance for my 2" bung exhaust extension that is about 8" tall.

Blessings,
