When I have time on my day off I like to check out the backrooms at the supply stores here in town. This is where they have used and clearance items. Today at Hockenbergs, I found a couple 6 qt. square Cambro containers w/o lids. Also there was a 22"x22" griddle with handles on two sides. It fits over four burners on a commercial stove. I get new lids for the Cambros and go to pay for them and ask about the griddle because there wasn't a price on it. I ask the salesman what they wanted for the griddle, he thought I was talking about one of the gas units, so we went back to look. I showed him the griddle and asked "How much?" He said "$10?" "I'll take it!" Was my reply. As he was ringing thing up he said he didn't charge me for the containers. Total bill $18!
Pictures coming.

Regardless of price if you left with a smile then it was a good deal.

Those flat tops alone are a $30-40 bill maybe $20 at least used.

The cheapest griddle I could find was just over $80.

I always check our local restaurant supply; my best score was a 30x72 Stainless Steel folding prep table for $55 (scratch & dent but can't find any scratches or dents).
That is a nice looking griddle!

That's a crazy good deal. Those are $115.00 on Amazon. (http://www.amazon.com/Chef-King-Gauge-Steel-Griddle/dp/B001BQTH8I/ref=pd_sim_k_7?ie=UTF8&refRID=0WCMEVM04M36NQH7TKMN)

Sounds like a good score! I had no idea that store was even there. Am I remembering correctly that was previously a movie theater?

Yes it was. It's to the west of Hobby Lobby on Merle Hay.

Here is a picture of the griddle cleaned and sitting on my 6 burner stove.

Great score on the griddle. Robbery on the Cambro lids, I always think those are over priced.

I can use for vending anything off the griddle. If I need to I can use it on the stove as pictured. I will be helping friends in Knoxville this summer and we may be able to put it to use. I didn't have a plan for it and I could let it sit there for that price.

You do notice the oil is clean though.

The lids were $3.16 each the containers new are over $9.

I didn't post the containers and cutting boards I picked up on Friday. Paid $5 for containers and lids and $10 each for a couple of large cutting boards that have the hangers on them.
