First UDS cook - Boston Butt

I tried out my new UDS this weekend. I seasoned first with a fatty (that was very tasty!), then my first "official" cook was this Boston Butt. Used a store bought rub call butt rub. A little salty for my liking, but the family really raved about the taste. Cooked around 11 1/2 hours at about 250. So, here's some pictures:

Really happy with the UDS so far! New to charcoal smoking, but I love this great smoky flavor and nice smoke ring the UDS produces. Pretty easy for a charcoal newbie like me. Next attempt will be ribs. :razz:

Haha, no interior paint. The picture of the UDS was taken before cooking the fatty to season it. So, the glossy look is where I sprayed cooking oil on the interior of the barrel. It does look like it is painted in that picture though.
