Haven't been back in the yard since my first smoke last weekend, and gonna be busy for a bit, so not sure when I'll get back out, but wanted to share some pr0n from the summer. (Yeah...it was cooked on a gas grill...but, it was a tasty burger, and the asparagus was pretty good, too.) I will (hopefully) be adding a weber kettle to my arsenal soon, but for now, a smoker and a gas grill are a nice pair - the gas is certainly convenient on weeknights.
Anyway, since I got excited/hungry and ate all my pulled pork without taking any photos of the sandwiches, sides or any other part of the meal, I figured I'd dig up some old photos of a grilled meal (even if it's not real bbq over charcoal...)
I started with some 85/15 chuck, mixed with a little worchestershire and seasoned with salt and pepper.

Got a nice sear on both sides...

Toasted some pretzel buns... (side note, whoever invented the pretzel bun deserves a medal)

Put the burger together with some ketchup, mustard, pickles, tomatoes and grilled onions...and cheese.

Served up a little grilled asparagus with it. I make my asparagus on the grill sealed in a foil packet with salt, pepper, olive oil and worchestershire.

I throw the packet on the grill over direct heat until it inflates and flip it a few times. Then I poke a hole to let the steam out and get a little char on the spears.

Comes out awesome everytime.
