It was a bit on the cold side today. :mmph:
It's been a bit on the cold side almost every day lately.
Now, when I say a bit on the cold side, I mean -20 degrees, or less!
Today it "felt like -15" or as I think of it, still dang cold. I couldn't take it anymore. I had to fire up a grill or smoker. I ended up firing up my smoker to cook up anything I could come across in the fridge.

Lets see... Some homemade Fat Cap Bacon.... Some smoked Hog Jowls... and a Beef Sirloin Roast.

I got carried away making a video that is taking too long to upload... :tsk:
So here are some pics of the end products.

All and all, it was a very happy cook and the family thought it was all delicious.

I am much more zen now. Here is a moment of zen to share with all of you as well.

Nice. Our actual temp was -15 yesterday, and the wind chill was close to -50. I wanted to smoke, but A, the smoker at home was under about a 5 foot drift, and B, I couldn't get to the restaurant to use that smoker since it was a state of emergency and roads were closed.

It's been a long few days and I'm craving some BBQ!

It is super tasty but, it's very much like pig belly. Lots of fat so, it's delicious and melts in your mouth but, makes you feel like you may go to hell in the process.

Hang in there! I had to start a fire in my chimney just to clean off enough snow and ice to be able to start charcoal with it.
Your time will come soon!

Tom, great to hear you haven't frozen! Really glad you can dig your way out to the smokers. I can't believe you still have my BBQ handle on your smoker. That thing has to be beat to death going through your winters year after year.
Your food looks awesome. Happy New Year to you and the family! :-D

I find rubbing them down with greasy gloves a couple time a summer helps them hold up. :Becky:

It was -15 down in central Illinois with a -37 windshield, so it had to be way colder up there! I usually don't BBQ under 35....but your making feel lazy lol.., or your crazy:crazy: for going out in the cold:cool:. Shoveling was more then enough for me:grin:. I thought I was a dedicated BBQ cook. Bravo
