So I found an old Weber 18.5 red head that the bottom of the kettle had rusted thru in a few places, for real cheap at a garage sale and thought it would make a great light for my cook area!! i finally got it all together and mounted in place just in time to cook the turkey and hams for Christmas.

The light gets better, I used a bright cool white waterproof led strip that can be cut to desired length. The adhesive was good, but some of the crud that i couldn't get off after hours of scrubbing, wouldn't allow it to stick. So a little bit of hot glue showed it who was boss lol. I ended up using 9 strips of to cover the under side. Also installed a RF controller so I can turn it on and off with a remote so there is no need to unplug it all the time!!

In all I'm very pleased with it. I was tired of holding a flash light at night will smoking at night lol. Best part it only cost about $30 for the LED's, the controller, and a piece of black that I didn't have!!

More food pron

Turkey off at 9am (Smells yummie!!)

On a side note after the rain melted all of our 5 inches of snow 2 days ago, we might have a white Christmas by the end of the day lol

I love the light! What a fantastic idea. :thumb:

If you want snow for Christmas, come on up! You don't have to go north much further for the white stuff.
