It was a Samuel Adam's Oktoberfest with the rib roast. It will be Maker's Mark in some Southern Comfort Egg Nog later. If you haven't tried the SoCo egg nog, it's great. It is super thick and rich on it's own, but it's made thick to add your booze to it. Awesome stuff.

A big glass of Dr. Pepper. Two years ago today I had my last drink. 12 too many bottles of "two buck chuck" (Trader Joe's house wine). It was time.

Forgot to mention that Rum Chata in the background is fantastic on its own on Ice. Kinda like Rum in Eggnog without the need of refrigeration.

January 1st is reserved for that action for me. I'm just using these last few days as ammunition for news years resolution!

PM me if you need to when the time comes. I am not trying to thread crap, nor am I high and mighty about whether one should drink or not. Like I said it was time for me.

Now carry on, ya bunch of damn drunks!

I have major love for the Irish and what they do! Jameson is like Mothers milk. Down the gullet instinctively

Been drinking some Long Island Iced Teas past few nights. Went to the Costco Liquor store, and the mood struck me, so that's what I've been having.

Some Old Vine Zinfandel, I bought this bottle at a Winefest they said it would pair nicely with beef. And it went nicely in the gravy I served with dinner and has treated great with the meal once I Polish off this bottle it's eggnog and rum with the cookies my kids left for Santa.

Enjoying a glass of Bulleit Green label Rye. Nice!

I made an Old Fashioned (or two) with the Bulleit Rye. They were damn good. I love a little bourbon now and again, and once in awhile I will spring for bourbon's close cousin, rye. Usually I drink my whiskey on the rocks but I like to make cocktails on occasion too.

In my Old Fashioned I have a little simple syrup, Angustora bitters, Fees cherry bitters, Fees orange bitters, ice and rye or bourbon. If there is too much proof going on you can add a splash of water or club soda.

We went heavy on some vintage wines last night. Put a good dent in the cellar.

A few more for today. But that is what family and the Holiday's are for. No sense keeping the good stuff.

My 20 year old daughter just got back from Ecuador.
She did volunteer work with local doctors for the underprivileged people in the mountains.
She gave me this glass this morning for my gift.
I will be pouring some nice read wine in it this afternoon.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Will be smoking salmon this afternoon.
Bottoms up!

I've heard of eggnog in movies, never come across it in RL!

Started with a few Bitburgers.
We had some JW Double Black on ice.
Some Caprioska's.
Some G&T's with Bombay Saphire.
A bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that was okay, not as good as I hoped for.
Champers "grande cuvee 1531 de aimery" with the stonefruit Brunch.
Lagavulin in the special glasses later.
Moderate this year.
Merry Christmas all!
