View Full Version : BBQ Wish-list for Santa

I figured that I would start a thread to help Santa make his list for the Brethren.

Not sure I need any more BBQ chit, but my list has an Auspit and a Rib-o-Lator at the top. (I would also like a BackWoods smoker, but I think that may be a bit too heavy for the reign deer!)

I may just end up getting coal like years past...charcoal would work though.

Merry Christmas to all!

I could use a cover for my stick burner, but I don't see Santa (AKA my wife) dropping the $200 it will take to get me what I need. A set of Grill Grates (I need 3 13.75" grates) would be an OK consolation gift.

Planning on feeding 18-22 ages 4-82. My wish would be for everyone to put away their social media devices and to never ever hear these words uttered "I saw on Facebook" during the meal. EVER.

Whenever someone uses social media as a permission slip to gossip I look them in the eye and say "if your going to talk about someone let's get them in the room so they can defend themselves"

I spend a lot of my time Alone with my cookers. And that is a great Christmas present.

I have asked for the Simply Marvelous Rub Pack comes with 7- 13 oz’s bottles. BPS has bundled them for the holidays.

FTFY. Can't you get what you need with a heavy duty plastic tarp and some duct tape? It may not look as fancy but it will do the job. And if SWMBO frets about the the hillbilly look, maybe she'll spring for the $200 cover. :heh:

As for me, the things I put on my list that are BBQ related include an injector and an Arduino starter kit. I want to see if I can connect the Arduino to my ET-733 temperature probes and use that to input cooker/meat temperatures into a PC or smart phone.

The hillbilly tarp is the current solution, and yeah it might just be ugly enough to get her to agree to a cover. The bigger issue is that it is a PITA to get tarped up (and even that is not extremely effective) because of the dimensions and some odd angles.

I just want time.
Time to prepare and execute a cook properly, no rushing.
That is all.
Just sayin'.
