A cousin of mine wants to get her husband a smoker for Xmas. I suggested a WSM, I don't think she liked the 300+ dollar price tag for one.

So I suggested to get someone in the family to help her make an UDS for him.

Well, as you can see im here asking a question, lol.:help:

Would anybody willing to make an UDS, that lives up in Washington in the Puget Sound area or know of anybody that could.

I would make one myself but I think the Shipping from Chicago to WA would be a tad much, just had a quote of about 542 dollars to send her one from Chicago:shock:

Thanks

A PBC might be an easy compromise.

Thanks, I relayed that to my cousin. For the price and for a person that would not build one, it looks pretty good.

The best part is it comes assembled (with free shipping) and doesn't need seasoned. It really is a nice turnkey solution for someone.

The PBC is a great option. I don't own one, but that may change in the future.

If he aint all thumbs what about a BPS kit? Nothing more satisfying than cooking on something you have a little sweat equity in.

Al's Seattle Barrel Co. is probably the best place to go in the area. You just have to be specific and know exactly what you want. A reconditioned 55 gallon open barrel with lid will run @ $50. Call ahead, bring cash!
