I have never cooked with a stout beer. In fact I very seldom cook with beer. The few times I have, it's been with Miller lite. (What was in the fridge.) My other half does not like the "beer taste".
I guess, what my question is, is will stout beer be very different from what I've used, or should I replace it with beef stock, to make my other half happy? And do y'all think the recipe would still be good, using beef stock?

stout beer is a very strong flavor. my family didn't like it that much. the second time I cooked with shiner bock which the family liked a lot better. I think if your family does not like the beer flavor, I would go with that or some other lighter flavor beer. but beef broth will be good also.

You can get mild stouts, I'm surprised you got any beer flavour from cooking with something like miller light to be honest. Guinness doesn't really leave any beer flavour IMHO

Well.....you have to know my other half. I could leave beer out, but tell her I used some, and she will swear that she doesn't like it, because of the beer taste.. Hahaha.

Don't think she'll like the stout. Maybe broth and rotel tomatoes. Always tasty.

You should not have any beer taste. But if your better half doesn't like the taste, just use beef broth or soda like, dr pepper, cherry dr pepper or root beer.
