I grill a lot of salmon but I have never used the cedar plank

does it impart any flavor to the fish?

I will. But cedar does not seem very appetizing. Thats why I have never tried it.

But since you like it I will give it a shot!!

thanks

I fish for salmon on our new England lakes, so this is one I have to try.
and I actually have that rub in our stash, although I haven't used it yet. now I have another reason to get it out.

Did you rub after the butter or before ? missed that.

by the way, do you char the plank a bit then flip it before adding the fish ? saw that in another salmon recipe I've used ( Dijon and brown sugar ); but don't know if it has a big effect.
