Doesn't have to be with BBQ or anything, just what's your favorite side dish?

For food, lobster macaroni and cheese.

With BBQ has to be a large can of Bush's baked beans. I take a rib and dunk it in the bowl of beans. lol

Anything else all depends on the protein.

Good corn on the cob. I could eat that every day with any type of meal.

Man. Tough one. If there were only one side to choose from. OK, eliminate anything that's not a starch. Hmm...I love rice. I love taters. I love pintos and black beans. Taters can be done so many ways too though. DAMN! So can rice. Wait! There's polenta too. Jeez.
Eeny meeny...OK, mashed taters with garlic, butter, heavy cream and fresh parsley. Gravy du jour.

Hmmm....favorite side eh?

Slaw is good. Beans with real fried bacon and onion is great. Homemade rolls are a winner. There is a lot that I consider a "favorite side"

By far and away though, my #1 "side" is fried Okra, especially with a thick cheeseburger from a little mom and pop hole in the wall burger joint, fries, and a thick chocolate milkshake. Aww man, its like I've died and gone to heaven.

I love lots of things but nothing goes with a nice brisket quite like some good hot links. Now if you insist on something besides meat, a nice warm piece of apple pie with a chunk of nilla ice cream. What??? My wife eats enough vegetables for both of us.

I am lucky, my brother in law owns a farm and farmers market, and I get to pick my own goodies the day I need them.

Fresh Sweet Corn on the cob, dipped in butter, sprinkled with salt. A little fresh watermelon for desert.

It would be easier if it was "what is your least favorite side"

But, lets see. Peas, mac and cheese, fresh sweet speckled corn on the cob, steamed broccoli with butter, any tater except sweet taters and good fresh bread.

Each one of those I could easily make the main dish of my meal. That was the only way I could narrow the list down to these.:biggrin1:
