I'm not just a Q'er, I am a general all around foodie and love cooking. I'm curious, what are your go to side dishes when you are Q'ing? Anything in particular, or is all meat?

My favorite is buttermilk cornbread, just a basic recipe but I cook some bulk bacon ends and pieces in a cast iron skillet, chop it up, and pour the batter over it and then cook the cornbread in the oven. I also will through in fresh jalapeno every now and then.

I like this twist on Corn Bread - also great with some chopped jalapenos mixed in.

Corn Spoon Bread

2 beaten eggs
1-8oz pkg corn muffin mix
1-8oz can cream corn
1-8oz whole kernel corn
1c sour cream
½ c melted butter
1c mozzarella cheese

Combine eggs, muffin mix, corn, sour cream, and butter, Bake at 350 for 35min. Add cheese bake another 10-15min.

That sounds very similar to a recipe of my wife's, she calls it Cornbread Corn. She doesn't put Jalapenos or cheese in hers. I shall recommend it next time cause it sounds amazing.

We like mac n cheese or potatoes. Have you made the tin foil taters? Chop up some potatoes, add butter, seasonings, onions, bacon, jalapenos, and ranch dressing and grill it for like 20-30 minutes... DELICIOUS! :) I'm still searching for the PERFECT mac n cheese recipe... Like you, we are Foodies as well. :)

I usually make the staples, but one of my go-to sides are the green beans that won me a 1st place trophy for side dish at a comp last year. My family requests them at every gathering now.

I have done foil potatoes before, though I never went with the bacon, jalapenos and ranch. Definitely will do that next time!

I have made some baked mac and cheese but it is tough to get a perfect recipe on it. Maybe I should experiment some.

I also like making Boston Baked beans, as I grew up in New England. I don't do it to often as my wife doesn't like them so much and they take for ever. Every now and then I'll make Boston brown bread with them as well.

Oh that looks delicious. I love the green vegetables, but always looking for a way to make them a tad less routine then steaming them.
