Not quite sure yet Titch... I'll probably slice them 1-1/2" thick so maybe 10 nice steaks.

Have you previously purchased them at costco? I have not had the best of luck purchasing whole ribeyes and sirloins at our local grocery store, I have wondered if they sell the ones they feel are subpar and cut up the best ones to be packaged as steaks. But I have not been happy with a lot of their meats generally. I get to costco about once a month and I have been pretty happy with most meats and produce from there. It is about an hour drive for me. Please let us know how you like the final product.

Nice grab Al, I had my eye on one of those the other day, but as it is, my wife says I'm not allowed to venture into the meat department at Sam's without adult supervision.

Heck of a price for that. That's about 12 steaks right there. Put some age on them and you are in heaven!

White out?

I have fun with our secretaries regarding that stuff. I go in and ask them "what is that stuff that people who make mistakes use? It, like, covers up writing. I have heard of it . . ." :biggrin1:

makes them crazy.

See, that's the problem, we don't fully listen to our wives....

She took the card and said you weren't allowed at Costco... She never said you couldn't ask someone else to go for you (LOL)

You should tell her that lovely piece of meat will help you to get more money back using the executive card. More money back = more purses, shoes and stuff. Win/Win

PRIME Ribeye is the Key. And so that's a good deal. If it was "select" then you'd be definately not getting that card back.

I'd be cooking one up for myself, give her a little cut of it. When she says how good it is, put your hand out!

"C'mon, give it back to me, or no more for you!"

Cheers!

No fear man. Chuck steak is dirty cheap and super good. Give it a go if you haven't done so already. I usually make tacos with em.

Al, I hope it's ok to post this here.
Warning rough Mathematics only
I did my Aussie Costco today and came home with two lots of RibEye.
Looks nice and marbled, was excellent last time.
Got an extra one as a pressie for my Sister In Law.
May seem expensive to you folk but our wage structure appears to be different than you Guys.
Roughly worked out at $10.90 a pound, the large piece weighed 12.129 lb
In comparison I would be paying about $28 a kilo in Woolworths or Coles for some ordinary meat maybe $12 a lb

Titch... That beef looks like what we would grade "Prime" as well so $10.90/lb is a killer deal as far as I'm concerned. Especially from what I gathered from Buccs regarding Aussie beef pricing. Great score.

I buy the whole beef tenderloins @ our Costco. I received a few questioning looks the first time I put one in our cart.

Once I cut it into filet's and tenderloin steaks I was her new hero. I bought a couple monster porterhouses last week and she made the comment while she was eating that "She's more of a tenderloin girl". Mission accomplished.

$8.59/lb, that's decent in my book. Hopefully you stopped by the bakery and said hi to my buddy Eric. He's worked there about 20 years.

That's what I'm used to seeing as well... I've been looking at these for the last year plus in that price range, but when I saw it for $8.59  I couldn't resist.

I would have been all over it too. I may have to make a trip to the one down the road after work and see if they have the same deal going on.

Truth be told the privileges were never revoked as I'm sure most of you who know me probably realize. :lie: It just made for a good opening line. :loco:
