It's not everyday you cook an animal heavier than an NFL linebacker

God I love smoking heritage breeds

Awesome. I'm way jealous! I just did my first pig and I dare say that your Hog has had larger bowel movements than my whole pig!

Well I'm the wrong person to ask I think my hogs are pretty good. :biggrin1:

But all self-loving aside, you really do taste a difference between this big fat heritage pig and the plain Jane generic hogs. All the golden liquid fat just mixes so well with the vinegar pepper sauce. It's like the best vinaigrette you have every tasted! So if the hog tasted awesome it was definitely because the pig was an amazing breed more than my cooking abilities.

That being said. Here's a satisfied customer!!

Local food blogger covered the event. Not the most flattering picture of me but I'll take it!

Thanks! I wish I had made some note cards to pass out to people about the hog. Historically it was a pig apple farmers kept around to eat excess apples to keep the bugs away. Hence why there are apples surrounding the pig.

If I'm ever in Culver let's dig a hole and cook a pig!
