Brought her home last night. Got it from a fellow Brethren here advertised on The CraigsList. Fortunately for me he couldn't use it and had already cleaned her up and started touching up the "Battle Scars" from 23 years of use. I sanded down the handles a bit this morning and put a bit of Australian Timber oil on them. All I really need to do is finish touching up a few places on the outside.

Timing on the sale was nearly perfect. I picked up an old Silver A gasser a couple of months ago pretty cheap on CL. When I saw the Redhead advertised I cleaned up the gasser and priced it to sell.

Sold it this morning so I pretty much broke even on the deal.

Sweet mastertouch, congrats on the score!

Yeah, but the fancy ash catcher is missing. The rest is Master Touch.

Looks to be in good shape, otherwise. :thumb:

That's a beauty! But, where is the MT ash pan? Hmmmm. I missed a red MT a couple of weeks ago, and it was missing one of the 3 things that defines an MT, but I can't remember what. I wonder if there were different versions of MTs. Oh yeah, it was the lid holder that was missing. Had the therm and ash can.

I think that is called a One Touch Plus.

MasterTouch has the lid holder, thermo, and OTG ash can.

Stiil sweet grill!

Is there a way to fab a OTG style ash catcher to this One Touch Plus?
Not that I would actually do it (unless it was super easy and super cheap) ...just curious.

You can pickup a otg ash catcher on amazon or ebay for around $30 dollars last time i checked.. Im not sure if you already have the slots in the legs of yours but if u do its a pretty simple mod.. If not u would have to cut some notches in yours.. Here are a couple of pics to help understand what im talking about and see how it is mounted

Sorry guys, but that is a Master Touch.

Weber did not come out with the ash catcher bucket on kettles till 1992. The grill posted is an "M", 1990. For at least 2-3 years the grill in the OP was referred to as a Master Touch by Weber. After 1992 the grill in the OP is referred to as a One Touch Plus, but since it's a 1990 grill, it's a Master Touch.

From a 1992 catalog.

From another catalog released in 1992 as well.

Also check out the Jumbo Joe. It is also known as a Smokey Joe Platinum, but is also known as The Outrider.
