View Full Version : Whole Pork Spare Ribs?

Hey Fellow Qers,

My Sweetie picked up a 5.5 LB. hunk of Hog Bone spare ribs for cheap. (Ya gotta love a lady whom is both thrifty and Beautiful...:mrgreen:). I'am no stranger to Hog Bones but I usually do Baby Backs and/or St Louis style.

I have the following questions:

1. Smoke them as is - whole?
2. Wack them in half length-wise?
3. Or?

All thoughtful suggestions are appreciated........

PS: I'll be using a 50/50 combo of Southern Red and White Oak for the smoke.

If you are a stranger to whole spare ribs, than you are a stranger to ribs lol.

I'd suggest following pitmasterT's weeping ribs method. There has been some controversy over his weeping ribs recenty, but I choose to call that user error.

Keep your hand close to the volume knob, all of PT's videos have volume issues (high and low)
