Always used roundsteak. Season with a little salt and pepper (cracked) and tenderize. Coat with fllour, seasoned with a little paprika and more pepper. Dip in milk, or buttmilk if you prefer, back in seasoned flour. I grew up eating it pan fried so, in a heavy cast iron skillet heat oil just below the smoke point. Turn occasionaly until fork tender and done. Drain on paper towels and place over a warm burner on a platter if needed before serving.

Does buttmilk come from a buttnipple?

1/3 lb. Angus burger, seasoned with Famous Dave's Burger Seasoning, grilled on the gasser, American cheese, tomato, sweet onion and avocado, a little bit of mayo and some Ketchapeno.

Ron_L, please throw out all your American Cheese. You killed that burger with it.

Get Kraft Sharp Cheddar slices. They sell them in slices now too.

I would have sworn that I had some cheddar slices in the fridge, but when I went to grab one, they were all gone. I don't mind American as much as you, but I agree that cheddar is beddar...

and get a real bun for Christ's sake

What's wrong with my buns?

I like those cheapo hamburger buns. I'd rather eat more meat and less bun.

My parents came to stay with me for a week after my wife had surgery so that she didn't have to worry about my son while I was at work. While they were there, my mom did all the cooking and it became quite an ey opening experience for my wife. She's a born and raised(partially) Pennsylvania girl. I'm 100% Florida Boy. Fried steak, chicken, collard greens, turnips, ocra, etc. Some people call it Soul Food, I just always called it home cookin. The wife learned what it was like to fry a whole chicken, after you cut it up, not just the breasts you pull out of a bag out of the freezer.
It was quite the experience for her and I gained about 10 pounds.

Time for the weight watchers mod......

I just had a bowl of Udon Noodles with Prawns cooked in a Japanese style. Not sure what I'm having tonight, I'll wing it from the contents of the Fridge (it will deff involve Beans!), but tomorrow I'm visiting the '70s with Beef Wellington.

A side of fried chicken and a real B oh well you heard that, and whats with the Avocado you might as well put bean sprouts and come from California or something. Put the Avocado with some mayo, salt and pepper, some lemon juice and medium shrimp cooked with old bay crab boil for a salad. Nirvana! Looks Great thought.

Geez... What's with you guys and bread? I'm in it for the meat!

Ron_L I'm with you on the trashy buns, I think fancy bread distracts from the meat and filling, I also like the way the juices soak into the bread making a doey texture due to the over yeasting of the bread (do it has that spring back whe housewives do the squeeze test!)

.......but NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO for that cheese, infact any processed presliced/pregrated cheese. It's just wrong on so many levels. You want unpasterurized (if you can get it) cheese, even better if made with organic milk, siced gererously. More expensive but a little goes a long way!
