Has anyone done a Brisket (packer/flat) on a gasser using a rotisserie?
Just thinking!!!
Thanks for any help.
Chuck.

On a gasser, yes...with a rotisserie, no. No reason it won't work though. Might even be better than on the grate.

I like the idea. My concern would be how to hold a full packer on the spit. No bones like a chicken and it is long unlike a roast. I can see this thing flopping around. But, go for it. You may have found a new way...................:clap2:

I think the two end 4 prong "Forks" might mitigate that a bit. I may just try this on my kettle with a smaller, 10~12 lb packer.

You'd be the first one to answer the "fat side up or down?" question!

Most flat rotisserie baskets are 14" wide unless commercial grade. Here is one 16.5" for two dimes at Amazon.com. Amazon.com: Grillmark Non-stick Rotisserie: Everything Else

This may be a stupid question but if you do this and are using a probe thermometer to keep track of temps how do you make it so the wire does not get tangled up as the meat spins

That basket will work. I used them for my rotisserie.

Couldn't a guy rig up some sort of mounting bracket that attaches to the rotisserie shaft? Then the thermometer unit would rotate with the rotisserie/meat/probe.

Especially with a wireless unit, you rarely look at the trasmitter

That's funny right there. That's almost exactly how I was gonna mod my rotis.

Interesting, how the purely unconventional turns into an entirely new method. Can't wait to see the rot brisket threads..................YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
