Uh wow. Gotta be a mistake. Unless there has been a recent run on lump that I have missed.

I did not look at link.It must be a mistake.I buy it by the pallet at the plant for between $3 and $3.50 a 10 pound bag.52 bags on a pallet.

It might not be a mistake. That stuff is hard to come by. I have two local spots that have ran dry and I live in Arkansas where it's produced. I think they may just be trying to take advantage of short supply.

NickyG the last I bought was back in the Fall.I knew they had changed locations. My Dad has a place at Melbourne,so it is not that far outta the way to run over to the plant when he is up there with an empty trailer.I am running low, only 15 or so bags left.I may need to call them and check out the supply. Thanks for the heads up.

BTW,I would take $30 a bag F.O.B. Hernando,MS.If anyone just HAS to have it.;-),(tic)

I'd have to go to propane before I'd spend that. Yeah, I said it. Forgive me.

I would think from other things I have had shipped to my house from UPS, etc, that when I received it, it would be a bag of fine, very flammable charcoal dust.
Nope, aint gonna do it.

Blessings,

Omar

There must be platinum in this chit fark gold flakes, I tried it once a dollar a lb for 10# if I bought two bags I got the other one for 9 bucks:caked: pass. It was good but a metal strap from like pallets fell out of the bag into the chimney, mild oak flavor no metallic taste whatsoever

It could be that there is a shortage. wasnt it a royal oak plant that burned to the ground a few months back?

Sears is kind of like Amazon in that it is a marketplace now. Angels Auto Parts is the actual seller.

Yea I noticed that Angle's Auto chit also...:tsk:

I just think this is some funny stuff gang... I mean come to fark on. I want to meet the special kind of idiot that would actually pay this price. I came across it on accident, really just seeing if there was any specialty stores within a 100 mile radius to me and in the mix that junk popped up. Actually had me excited for a second... thought sears was going to have something else good.

The prices on many online items are set by computers that monitor all kinds of parameters. Sometimes these algorithms produce something completely out of whack. On occasion I would see $5 items at Amazon listed for hundreds of thousands of dollars in one case. I don't see this so much anymore, but this probably is one of those instances of whackiness.

That's getting close to $4 per ounce.
Seems resonable to me. I mean, any serious BBQ-O-Phile also soaks his lump in Goldschlager too.
Certainly I'm not alone on this.

How about a $53.94 for a 6.7lb bag of MATCHLIGHT from ACE? (http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12789419)

at least it is free ship to store:laugh:

But if you look at the description, it says, "Lasts as long as a 7.2 lb bag." That .5lb makes all the difference in the world!:loco:

That's not too bad of a deal when you realize that by going with the matchlight, you're saving shipping on a bottle of lighter fluid. :biggrin1:
