1/2 cup black pepper
1/4 cup ground mustard

BTW, there is a Google search box near the bottom of the page that searches just this site. There are lots of threads on rib rubs.

That don't work without percussion. Add a pinch of Buddy Rich

How does the splenda work out? Does it get weird in any way after getting smoked/cooked?

Kosher salt, Fresh cracked black pepper, granulated garlic, cumin and minced onion.

That's basically all that I use. This is a typical Texas style of BBQ rub.

Kosher salt, Fresh cracked black pepper, granulated garlic, cumin and minced onion.

This plus a little cayenne. If you like a little sweet you can add some turbinado sugar.

Sorry guess I'm just not much of a follower or puppy dog, I just do with what wins me trophies and makes me $$. IMO this is the best all purpose rub you can make.
1/2 c kosher salt
1/2 c McCormick coarse grind pepper
1/4 c ancho powder
1 TBS granulated garlic
1 TBS granulated onion
1 TBS MSG (optional)
Its so simple, yet so tasty on everything
Add 1/2 c brown sugar for Pork.
Enjoy!
Only you can decide honestly what you like best. Honestly I hate to eat what I turn Into judge, but again it's all about $$

I use this same recipe except I add paprika and cumin, and its almost as good as any commercial rub ive found for pork or beef.

2 cups Brown sugar
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup black pepper
1/4 cup ground mustard
1/4 cup granulated garlic
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup paprika
1/8 cup cumin

Also sometimes I add a little bit of red pepper flakes if I want to add some heat

Guess what BB, it is a commercial rub. I use it at the restaurant on my ribs. I will have to try the cumin and paprika and see how it changes the flavor. The customers really like mine on the ribs. As everyone knows, sweet sells.
